maleficent

Maleficent poster from Nov. 2103

When I saw the teaser poster for “Maleficent” back in November I was enchanted by her horns – so curvy and strong. I shared the picture on our Facebook page and was amazed by the big response. Wow, we are not the only ones who love the evil queen.

One of the people who responded was a model we have worked with before, Odette Despairr. She is a huge fan of Maleficent and convinced us to make one for a shoot. She lined up a stellar team:

Laura Dark – We’ve worked with Laura many times in the past and the results are always beautiful and creative. She is a conceptual portrait and fashion photographer based in Columbus, Ohio.  DarkSpectre Couture represents the talented, hard work of Nez Wilburn. She made the fabulous Maleficent collar, gown and cape, and she is taking orders. Diana of Make Up Vamp did the dramatic makeup that brought it all together.

The shootmalefficent horns got picked up as a feature for Kultur Magazine, an alt fashion and art publication from South Africa. It was scheduled for a June release, with a cover! So we had to wait five long months to show the photos. Here is one of my favorites.

But meanwhile we released our own simple studio shots and they got shared all over. We have had 18 orders placed so far  – a lot for our small studio. To order one of your own contact me here.

maleficent hornsOur Maleficents will be appearing all over DragonCon this Labor Day weekend (could you call it a murder of Maleficents?). You may also see one at a drag show or Halloween party near you!
